At McClure Insurance we have offered flood insurance to individuals and families in the Western Massachusetts region for nearly 90 years. We pride ourselves on our comprehensive knowledge of our region, and thus being able to better serve and protect our clients with the appropriate flood insurance options for their needs.

As residents of Springfield MA and the Pioneer Valley, you know how unpredictable it can be to live along the banks of the Connecticut River near it’s confluence of three rivers, the Westfield, Chicopee and Mill Rivers. Our personal insurance specialists will help you understand your flood risk by utilizing FEMA flood determination software.

Here are some of the reasons that you, as a homeowner, should invest in the proper flood insurance:

  • Across the Western part of Massachusetts, there is a greater potential for flooding as a result of both rain and snowmelt.

  • Midwinter or early spring thaws are common in this area, and they are notorious for producing large amounts of runoff that cannot penetrate or be reabsorbed into the still hard, frozen ground.

  • Overflow water from heavy rains or snowmelt often runs into our area’s many lakes, streams and rivers, causing excess water to spill over their banks and into our communities.

  • According to the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA), 20% of all flood claims are from moderate to low risk areas.

  • Don’t wait until it’s too late; the standard homeowners insurance policy will not cover flood-related damages.
